Workshop

Rekindle the Spark!

Join us for Hold Me Tight® – a two-day intensive Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) workshop to help couples heal broken bonds, improve communication, intimacy and security.

Hold Me Tight® will help you and your partner feel safe, secure and connected by enabling you to:

  • Understand the real reasons you get into the same struggles over and over.
  • Change patterns that leave you frustrated, angry and hurting.
  • Engage in conversations keeping your love alive and secure.

For over 25 years, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) has been used to expand and reorganize key emotional responses within relationships, create a shift and initiate new cycles in partner interaction, and foster the creation of a secure bond between partners. Hold Me Tight® weekends help you and your partner rediscover the closeness you once cherished Saturday November 12th 9am–5pm and Sunday November 13th 9am-5pm

About Hold Me Tight®

In this workshop, you’ll be guided through
7 relationship-transforming conversations…

What are the seven conversations?

The first four conversations teach you how to limit negative spirals that leave you both disconnected and how to tune in to each other in a way that builds lasting emotional responsiveness. The next two conversations help with emotional bonding, forgiving injuries and strengthening sexual intimacy. The final conversation is about lasting change: how to care for your relationship on a daily basis.

1. Recognizing Demon Dialogues – First, couples identify common emotional reactions that lead to negative cycles. Being able to identify the negative patterns is the first step to being able to step out of those patterns.

2. Finding the Raw Spots – Next, each partner learns to look beyond their immediate, impulsive reactions to discover the vulnerable feelings under the negative cycles.

3. Revisiting a Rocky Moment – This conversation focuses on skills to de-escalate conflict, repair disconnections, and build emotional security.

4. Hold Me Tight® – Here the conversation moves into being more accessible, emotionally responsive, and deeply engaged to strengthen and protect their emotional connection – the foundation for feeling safe & secure in the relationship.

5. Forgiving Injuries– Old emotional hurts can block intimacy and a secure connection. Knowing how to identify these injuries and accept forgiveness empowers couples and strengthens their bonds.

6. Bonding Through Sex and Touch – Partners look at how emotional connection enhances physical connection, which in turn creates deeper emotional connection – the best kind of cycle.

7. Keeping Your Love Alive – The last conversation in the program builds on the understanding that a love relationship is a continual process of losing and finding emotional connection – all relationships go through cycles of harmony, dis-harmony and repair. Couples will learn to be deliberate and mindful about maintaining deep connection.

How will the Hold Me Tight® program help you and your partner?

With Hold Me Tight® we will guide you through 7 conversations to increase your connection and build a sense of safety & closeness.

  1. Accessibility:    Can I reach you?  Do you hear what I need?
  2. Responsiveness:    Can I rely on you to respond to me?
  3. Engagement:    Do I know that you will value me and stay close?

These key questions are buried, hidden just under the surface in most of our recurring arguments about issues like sex, kids, money, personality differences and chores. If partners feel safe and loved, they can deal with differences and problems together.  If not, then relationship issues and fears get channeled into endless disagreements around practical issues of everyday life.

The Hold Me Tight® workshop:

  • Provides group instruction with time to practice privately as couples.  We will guide you as you build key relational bonds.
  • Teaches tools and strategies focused on solutions for your unique situation.
